Thomas Blechinger is President and CEO of Plasser American Corp., a U.S.-based manufacturer of rail track maintenance equipment. He’s held the role since 2016.
His career began with an electrical mechanic apprenticeship, providing a strong technical foundation that has supported his progression into executive leadership roles.
With over three decades of experience, Blechinger has worked across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. At Plasser American, he has focused on strengthening operations, expanding business lines, and introducing new technologies to support the rail industry’s evolving needs.
Blechinger holds an Austrian Engineering degree (Ingenieur) in Mechatronics, an MBA and a Master’s degree in Business Management from the University of Klagenfurt in Austria. He has completed executive education at the Yale School of Management. This blend of technical expertise and business training supports his approach to leading both innovation and daily operations in a complex industry.
Based in Hampton Roads, he continues to work on advancing rail manufacturing while applying the principles that shaped his career.
