Gilbert T. Bland is the president and chairman of the Urban League of Hampton Roads.

He currently serves on the executive committee of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. He is the inaugural chairman and founder of the Virginia African American Advisory Board.

Bland serves on the boards of Sentara Health, national Community Advisory Board of Truist Bank; National Community Reinvestment Corporation; Center for Excellence in Education; Randolph-Macon College, Norfolk State University, Union Presbyterian Seminary; Elevate Early Education, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

He serves as board chairman and president of Healthy Neighborhood Enterprises, a community development corporation.
