Alan Witt was appointed dean of the Luter School of Business in July 2021, following 33 years as CEO of PBMares LLP. He currently serves on the boards of the Hampton Roads Executive Roundtable, the Peninsula Community Foundation, the CNU Real Estate Foundation, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, and TowneBank.

His prior service includes serving as board chair of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, Riverside Health System, Greater Peninsula Now, the Hampton Roads Partnership, Newport News Education Foundation, and the Newport News Industrial Development Authority.

He has also served on the Commonwealth Transportation Board, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel Commission, Newport News City Council, and the Christopher Newport University Board of Visitors where he served as rector.
