Jeff Wassmer is the chief executive officer of Spectrum, a company he founded in 1999. He has over 35 years of experience in network security and program management of Department of Defense Command’s control, communications, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance programs.

Wassmer has guided Spectrum to steady increases and growth which has resulted in Spectrum reaching large-business status in 2011. Spectrum was ranked 15th in the nation on the 2012 Great Place to Work’s Best Small and Medium Workplaces list, published in Fortune magazine. Spectrum has received numerous other local and national awards.

Wassmer is a former chairman of the Virginia Port Authority. He has also held elected office serving as York County’s chairman of the Board of Supervisors.

Wassmer is involved in many organizations. He currently serves as a board member of the Peninsula Community Foundation and Peninsula Now, and he’s a member of the Business Climate Executive Committee on the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. Wassmer has served as council president for the Colonial Virginia Boy Scout Council and remains involved today.
